Mara and Jon grew up in the Oberlin area and their family roots run deep. Because of their connection to the area, they are one of a very select group of people to be married at the lovely Riverdog Retreat. Even if you cannot get married at River Dog, you should stay in one of their lovely bed and breakfast rooms and houses, or attend any one of their numerous concerts – it is an amazing place. Mara’s mom spent countless hours finding all the most perfect details for the wedding. She collected countless plates, cups and silverware so nothing would match. It was so incredibly beautiful and elegant. Mara ordered her wedding dress online, but hand crafted her bead crown and gorgeous earrings. The couple chose to do a first look which was followed by a toast to welcome everyone to the wedding. It was a non-traditional way to start this non-traditional wedding. The ceremony was lovely and included friends with musical gifts and friends as officiants and speakers. Dinner was a super tasty BBQ meal, followed by socializing, dancing, cake and candy!
