Dyani went to Oberlin High School, but never had senior photos taken. She didn’t like her teeth so didn’t feel comfortable smiling. This is sadly more common that you would think. If you see someone who seems shy or standoffish, there may be a reason that has nothing to do with how they feel about you.
Fast forward four years and Dyani was graduating from Oberlin College and she decided that she wanted to mark the occasion with senior photos. I thought this was such a lovely idea. It would still be honoring a big transition in her life. She would still be young and cute so these photos would have a big impact later in life, although maybe not as embarrassing as high school senior photos sometimes are! 🙂
