Brian Greene Convocation

One of the coolest thing about living in a place like Oberlin is taking advantage of the amazing talent the College brings to town. Last night we got to listen to Brian Greene give a talk about Physics and String Theory, for free.
Brian is famous for explaining Physics to people that don’t know Physics. His book “The Elegant Universe” was turned into a Nova series on PBS. And there is talk of turning one of his other books “The Fabric of the Cosmos” into one as well.
Brian is a wonderful speaker and it was such a treat to have my mind stretched thinking of these amazing concepts. Luckily for me, he had wonderful computer-generated visual aids. I don’t think I would be able to fathom the concepts of how gravity works, flexible time and space, and string theory without those.
If you want to learn more about Brian and his work, start here:
If you live close to Oberlin, I urge you to check out this annual Convocation Series. They are always free and open to the public. Toni Morrison is coming in April (I can’t wait).
