This wedding was very special to me. I actually babysat Anna when she was a young girl because her father was my college advisor. Her dad was, and is an amazing professor and did what every college advisor should do – advised me like my own father would have done.
Sean is a great guy. He didn’t enjoy the experience at his high school (I won’t mention the name) and took it upon himself to finish up his diploma online. He and his family should be really proud of his accomplishment. I can’t wait to see what he does next.
Jody & Mark’s love story is wonderful fodder for romantics like myself. Jody is a professor of Music Education at Oberlin College. She has lovely friends, a wonderful job – in other words, a fantastic life. She had tried online dating for awhile with no luck.
I have photographed people doing yoga, and dance ensembles before, directors and performers, but the idea of a dancer’s headshot was new to me. I was contacted by one of the Oberlin College graduating dance majors and I figured I better get educated as to what kind of shots best serve dancers.
Rachael isn’t a senior yet, but she is moving to China and her mom figured it would be a great idea to document this time in her life – seeing that big changes are afoot.
Shane is a sweetheart. He is obviously a football player by build and uniform, but he also acts and sings in plays. We had a fun outdoor mini-session around Oberlin.
Zofia is another beautiful and super smart girl from Oberlin High. What is in the water here? We tried to do some “serious” photos of Zofia and failed big time. The girl can’t not smile. I love that. Best of luck to you next year when you take on the world!
Clara is a beautiful and talented girl. She is so talented on the violin that she will be attending a major conservatory of music next year. So, with that in mind, we played around a lot with headshot-y photos using her violin.
Anne is a gorgeous girl who has a fun personality to match. We got a nice break in the weather and went around Oberlin taking some great pics.
For their wedding, they chose the Frank Lloyd Wright House in Oberlin, Ohio which is owned by Oberlin College and managed by the Art Museum. It was a small and intimate outdoor wedding and the day was unbelievably beautiful. The day, May the 21st, had special significance to the families as well. It was the holiday of Saints Constantine and Helen.
