Oberlin Jazz Faculty Group Photo

What do you do when a client wants a group shot created, but not everyone is there? Well, for the Oberlin Jazz Faculty, I made a deliberate composite image.
The Jazz Faculty was preparing to tour for the first time as a group. These are very talented professors who also happen to be very talented performing musicians, so their schedules are insane. There simply was not going to be one day where everyone was in town at the same time. I came up with the idea of shooting a mixture of individual portraits, pairs and groups of threes. Then, I would create a composite image in Photoshop once I had taken everyone’s portrait.
I love the final image. They definitely delivered the cool and fun vibe we were going for.
