Olivia is a gorgeous young lady! But like many young ladies, she can feel self-conscious. We learned a valuable lesson together. She brought a friend with her to her session and that friend didn’t help her relax and feel like herself – quite the opposite in fact. Her parents expressed concern over her images and I offered to do a second session for free to get the images that truly reflected her personality. Now I know to ask the tough questions of someone who expresses interest in bringing someone with them to their session. Are you the kind of person that gets very nervous in front of a camera? Will this person help you to relax and feel more comfortable – then bring them along. If that person is someone you compare yourself to, then maybe have them leave and come back later. Sometimes I have to try to read the room and help people make these decisions.
