Jody & Mark's First Church of Oberlin Wedding

Jody & Mark’s love story is wonderful fodder for romantics like myself. Jody is a professor of Music Education at Oberlin College. She has lovely friends, a wonderful job – in other words, a fantastic life. She had tried online dating for awhile with no luck. She had made the decision to pull her profile because she knew in her heart that even if she never got married, her life was wonderful – it was enough. So, she logged on to shut her account down and there was a match waiting for her. This wasn’t just any match – it was a match to someone she already knew – Mark, a music educator in another town. They had met at various functions over the years – the first of which was 14 years ago. She had never realized that he was single, and it was a little complicated since they were already acquainted, but she decided to write to him anyways.
Well, good thing she did. They both took a chance and really hit it off.
They had a simple wedding on a lovely Thursday afternoon. After the ceremony, everyone headed into the Fellowship Hall at First Church for a cupcake and ice cream reception. Jody joked that she didn’t even know that cupcakes were in fashion – she just likes them!
The highlight of the day was how many lovely people came to wish them well, along with many of Mark’s students helping out – playing music, passing out programs and ice cream. There was a lot of love and support in that room.
Jody is a vivacious lady who makes the best facial expressions and Mark has a quiet and more pensive persona. They make an amazing pair!
