Mary Beth and Dave's Rose Cafe in Lorain Wedding

So, Mary Beth and Dave were married on October 24, 2009 and their wedding was probably the funnest wedding I have ever photographed! I should have known way back in June during their e-session, that their wedding would be awesome because they are just the most laid back, up-for-anything couple. Anyone who knows them will agree – they just have energy and fun pouring out of them!
I met Mary Beth and her family and maids of honor at MB’s family church in Bay Village. The girls were getting ready and there was just a bit of nervous energy in the air. The weather outside was windy and a little bit rainy, but I had high hopes that it would clear up for the exciting afternoon we had planned. (More on that in a bit). Mary Beth looked so gorgeous – she was simply glowing. The wedding was beautiful and went off without a hitch until the end when the Reverend forgot to have them kiss! He simply pronounced them husband and wife and everyone applauded. Mary Beth and Dave looked at each other, waited a moment, and then just walked back up the aisle! But don’t worry, there was plenty of kissing during the rest of the day.
The wedding guests, braving the weather, waited outside the church and blew bubbles as Mary Beth and Dave walked out of the church. Then we headed back inside for a few family photos at the altar. Then the real fun began…
Mary Beth and Dave had rented a party bus to take their wedding party and myself all around for 2 hours before the start of the reception. The group drank and partied and whenever we saw a cool location for photography, we stopped the bus and they vogued for me. It was such a blast and we got some amazing photos out of it.
Then they had to sober up in order to head back to the reception with the rest of their friends and family.
Mary Beth and Dave made the conscious decision to have me photograph the parts of their wedding day that were most important to them – the getting ready, ceremony, party bus and the beginning of the reception. I am always happy to help my couples save a little money by limiting their photographic coverage. I am a firm believer that a few excellent photos are better than a bunch of mediocre ones or none at all.

Here are some of my favorite shots from the day.
(I told you she was laid back. Check out her footwear complete with her “something blue”).

We took this next series of images inside and outside of Henry’s at the Barn in Avon. They were super cool and let us have the run of the place for a mini-photosession. What a cool place.

Then we headed on to the reception. In Mary Beth’s brother’s toast, he made them kiss in front of everyone to seal the deal not completed at the church!

The beautiful cake made by Mary Beth and Dave’s friend.

The beautiful fall theme as seen in these pretty, sparkly place-card leaves.

There are more images from the reception, but I think I have gone on too long and it is better to end with this image taken on the shores of Lake Erie at the Rose Cafe. Classic.

I’ve been super behind on blogging, but I HAD to get this entry up because Dave is heading to Iraq in a couple of weeks and I just really want them to have these photos up for easy viewing. Dave you better stay safe and come home quickly, I’m warning you!
