Ed and Kara’s Valentines Day Columbus Museum of Art Wedding

Ed and Kara are such a lovely couple. They are easy going and emanate warmth. Their love radiates outwards and it is obvious how much they value their families. Ed and Kara found me via the WPJA website, which made me glad that I had renewed my membership! LOL. What this told me was that they valued my quiet style and my observational skills. Even though I never trained as a photojournalist, I always strive to those high standards of an image that can tell a story, and tell it well.
So, I definitely felt the pressure to deliver beautiful and powerful images for this lovely couple who was having a creative, but intimate wedding in Columbus. And for a couple that has an incredibly cute daughter, they had a funny request… That I didn’t take too many photos of the kids. Well, that was a challenge because there were so many cute kids running around. Luckily, there were plenty of beautiful moments to photograph, from the gorgeous ceremony at the Columbus Museum of Art to the beautiful reception in the brand new Hilton Columbus Downtown. One of my favorite elements of the night, however, was the ballroom dancing demonstration and class. That’s right! Ed and Kara brought in some professional dancer friends who danced and then gave a mini class to everyone at the wedding. It was amazing.
So, enjoy these photos. Ed is one of the kindest grooms I have ever worked with and Kara’s smile just lights up a room. They are beautiful, inside and out, and you can see proof of it in their daughter.
