Sarah & Steve are my super Washington DC couple. They flew me out to DC to photograph their engagement session back in April.
They planned their Ohio wedding from a distance with the help of their families and the fantastic wedding coordinator Amy Nixon of Amy Nixon Events. I can't recommend a good wedding coordinator enough - especially for weddings in a different state or homegrown weddings. It is money well spent, and Amy handled all the tricky situations and setups and transfers of flowers with a great "no problem" attitude. And wait until you see her beautiful and elegant solution to a small flower budget!
Sarah & Steve's ceremony and reception was set for a beautiful end of summer day in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park area. I met up with everyone at the hotel getting ready and then took off for the ceremony.
After the ceremony we headed into the Cuyahoga Valley National Park to some beautiful locations that Sarah & Steve had hiked to. The whole bridal party went for a hike (in heels no less) to get these amazing shots. I took Sarah and Steve to a beautiful location that I had spotted from the road and then we headed off to the reception at the scenic and rustic Happy Days Lodge. Among the highlights from the rest of the night included corn hole games, Steve serenading Sarah with his frat brothers, a photo booth with lots of wacky hats, late night donuts, and homemade jams as a parting gift for guests.
It was a beautiful wedding and party. Sarah and Steve's love for each other is obvious as is their love of laughter and fun.
